All Talking Walk-in sessions are currently cancelled due to Covid-19. New referrals are being accepted but families will be contacted by telephone in the first instance and only seen face to face if absolutely necessary
If your child is under 5 and you are concerned about their speech, language or communication please contact our admin team via email at huh-tr.sltinfo@nhs.net
and include in your email:
- Your name and phone number
- Your child’s name and date of birth.
Alternatively, you can call 020 7683 4587 and leave a voicemail message with your name, contact number and your child’s name and date of birth.
If your child attends full-time school, please contact the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) in the school who can refer your child to our service.
The Children’s Integrated Speech and Language Therapy Service for Hackney and The City provides support for children and young people who live in Hackney and attend Hackney Schools.
If your child is under 5 years old and is not yet in full-time school, you can come to one of our Talking Walk-in sessions. A therapist will hear your concerns and provide you with advice on how to help your child. There is a Talking Walk-in session happening every week across the borough and there will be one in your local area every month. You do not need a referral and can just drop in to the best session for you. Click here to see a list of the dates and locations of our Talking Walk-ins. If you need an interpreter please call our administrators on 020 7683 4262 and this can be arranged for you.
If your child attends full-time school, please contact the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) in the school who can help you access support from the speech and language therapist in school.
